Work in Progress (The Loft)

As we have been graced with such cozy accommodation we are lofting our bed. Originally the plan was to have one of the chippies (carpenters) from work build our masterpiece. However, his expertise are expensive even at half his usual wage. So since we didn't want to spend a months rent (£650=$1070) we are off to Wickes.
Its a good thing it is literally across the street. Google maps says 4 mins walk, but its an eternity when walking all this lumber.

Since its the long weekend ( Spring Bank Holiday weekend) its the perfect opportunity to get this thing built. All the plans and sketches are complete all thats left to do is to pick up the tools

Moving Day

So its official: Saturday is move in day.

Everything is packed up (basically) and ready to go.With the help of a few guys from work we will be transporting all our worldly possessions in one van load to our new home. Its strange to think how we came over here with only two suitcases each and now have a van load of (useful) stuff.

I look forward to having to live a more organized and minimalistic lifestyle in our 13 x 10 ft studio.

Post cards from Italy

Right, so we have now been home from our amazing holiday in Italy for almost two weeks. I am finally sitting down and writing the post cards which will be sent out shortly. (Shortly is relative.) In the mean time here are digital Post cards...

Taking Emily to Meet the Taylor Clan

So we just got back from Sunbury where we spent the day with the rest of the Taylor family.

Pam and George (Great Aunt & Uncle) hosted an amazing buffet lunch for all of us. The whole Taylor clan was there. Max & Frances (grandpa), Pam & George (Great Aunt & Uncle), Chris & Jane with Elena 12 (Cousins), and Ted & Shirley (Georges twin brother).

It was a great time with everybody.

Where to Begin

Despite creating this blog back in October this will be my first post. Steven and I have recently done a lot of travelling around Europe so I figure it's about time to post. 

My intention is to use this blog to share some of the more memorable experiences from our travels and just everyday life. Steven and I also have a Flickr account with a more comprehensive visual account of our adventures.
